Collection: Janie's Mill (JM)
Janie's Mill began with a simple question: Why should locally grown organic grain travel hundreds of miles away when it could nourish the communities around it? That question inspired Harold Wilken and his family to build a stone mill dedicated to producing exceptional flour from the certified organic grains they grow on Janie's Farm in Ashkum, Illinois. After years of planning, Janie's Mill began stone-milling flour in 2017 and has been serving home bakers and professional bakeries ever since.
Named in memory of Harold and Sandy Wilken's daughter, Janie, the mill reflects the family's commitment to healthy soil, wholesome food, and caring for future generations. Using traditional stone milling, every kernel is gently ground at cool temperatures to preserve the bran, germ, and natural nutrition that modern roller milling often removes. The result is flour with exceptional flavor, character, and the goodness nature intended.
