Why "Westbluff"?
"Westbluff" is more than just a nod to Dubuque—it’s a symbol of forward movement. We sit proudly on the bluff to the West of the Mississippi River, a place that historically marked the edge of the known and the beginning of what’s next. We chose the name "Westbluff" because it reflects both our roots and our direction. It’s where we live, but more importantly, it’s how we think.

Neighbors, Friends, Partners, Co-Founders
We met in college as neighbors just before Covid-19. We lived two doors down (one less than the band) and although we were studying completely different subjects, we bonded over our agricultural childhoods, perspectives on life, and—you guessed it—FOOD.
After finishing school, we decided to jump over the river from Platteville, WI to Dubuque, IA where we fell in love with exploring the historic downtown, millwork, and river districts. The Summer Farmers Market became a permanent routine and one of our favorite places to take visitors...some things never change!
In late 2022, we planted our roots even deeper into these bluffs when we bought a house together. We both missed growing our own food the year we lived in a downtown apartment and desperately missed having a yard.
A few months later, we built a garden and started volunteering at the Farmers' Markets which lead to our Urban Agriculture Fellowships in 2024. The focus on food insecurity, food deserts, and our local food community ultimately led us to the idea of Westbluff.
We officially started the business in November of 2024 and have quickly built what you see today. Low waste, healthy lifestyles are large parts of our personal brands that we are putting into action with Westbluff. We are quite happy with our lives and want to make it abundantly easy for people like you to eat healthy, local food while effortlessly supporting renewable agriculture and sustainable practices!
We are so thankful for the community of people like you who read all the way to the bottom of our bio! We LOVE learning, nature, and food so we'll be sharing and spreading awareness around these topics via social media, our newsletter, and our SMS platform "Fresh Finds" to stay up to date on all things local food!
