The Westbluff Dream

Hunter Jancek

Hello Friend,

Welcome to the beginning of a new age, where grocery shopping will forever look a little bit different… at least for our community!

I’m Hunter, one of the owners and founders of Westbluff, and the soon-to-be driver of our Market Bus—a Farmers’ Market Bus, to be exact. With this bus, we’re bringing the finest locally grown foods, and other wholesome options, directly to your neighborhood. Our goal is to be up and running THIS SUMMER!

Believe me, I’d love to get started sooner, but somehow funding, logistics, and business development takes longer than you'd expect... But trust me, we’re working hard to make this dream become a reality.

The Dream

The dream I have is simple: a place that sells wholesome food throughout the week, free of toxic chemicals, artificial food coloring, preservatives, and all the junk we never asked for. And if I can be so picky, products that come from producers who care more about quality than profits.

This dream inspired Westbluff, before we even had a name. Originally, we planned to open a fixed-location, but no matter where we thought to put it, it felt like it would be too far away to serve you.

So, we thought: What if we put our store on wheels?

At first, a school bus seemed too small, especially when thinking about the variety of food we want to offer. But then we remembered something; we don't use most aisles at the grocery store anyways!

The truth is, a small store provides a more personal shopping experience where we can help you shop and answer any questions about our products—just like a real farmers’ market!

Picture This...

You walk to your mailbox and find a single-aisle grocery store on wheels. You walk up the steps to find shelves of fresh-picked veggies, ripe fruits, fresh-baked breads, and local honey. You start browsing through the produce and recognize smiling faces waiting to answer any questions: What does kohlrabi taste like? How do you cook this squash? (Don't worry, we got you!)

You collect a few items and before you know it, you’re looking into a fridge at local cheeses and crisp salad greens, begging to be tossed in a salad with the tomatoes you're holding! You also notice cuts of organic and grass-fed meats perfect for your family dinner. A quick chat with a friendly, local foodie at the register about what to make as a side leaves you inspired, and slightly hungry...

Suddenly, you realize that you totally forgot about the mail!

How long has it been anyways? Less time than a normal grocery trip I bet… and look at you, leaving with dinner plans, fresh food, and a new friend.

Help Us Get There

Before we stop by with groceries, we need to know where you’d like us to park. We’ve been scouting locations around Dubuque, but we need a little help. We'd love to know where you’d like us to stop!

Think about places where it would be convenient for you—your street, a local park, a community center. If you have a spot in mind, send me a message on Instagram or Facebook, and I’ll check it out! I can’t promise we’ll be able to make every location work, but I can promise I’ll personally look into each and every one you send our way. I can’t wait to hear your ideas!

Spread the Word

Know someone that cares about high quality food and supporting local farmers? Tell them about us, I bet they'd appreciate it! The more people who know about us, the better we can serve you!

Thanks for being awesome and for valuing good food as much as we do. Together, we’ll make tomorrow a little better than today.

Can’t wait to hear from you

- Hunter
